Stockists of Cape Mohair, Ingubo and Hinterveld products, including super soft blankets, shawls, scarves and socks. All our beautiful hand-knitted jerseys, beanies, berets, scarves, shawls and mitts are made in the area by local craftspeople.
Weltevrede is one of the first fig farms in South Africa. It started out as a fruit drying farm: drying peaches, apricots and figs. Today we have over a thousand fig trees (one tree is over a hundred years old!) and we sell dry, fresh and bottled figs. We farm mainly with Adam Figs, a big purple fig, excellent for drying and selling fresh. We use the tiny Cape Brown figs for making Green Fig Preserve and other fig products.

Functional-Art is based in the beautiful Karoo town of Prince Albert. I create unique pieces of functioning-art in the form of lamps, some with a Steampunk trend.
I have always been interested in lighting and creating something different and moving to the Karoo has given me the perfect opportunity to pursue this art.
In these creations, I incorporate used and old (mostly very old) Land Rover gearbox parts where possible in order to add some history and authenticity. Wherever possible I try not to use new components in the
feature piece as this adds to the vintage look.
I am also very happy to take on commissions and the repair of existing lights.
I strive to make each light a unique and individual piece which will give years of pleasure.
